About the artist
A signature piece

Sunflower & Moonflower
desert landscape.

A large leather tote painted with a dramatic desert scene — towering rust-red canyons, terracotta and sage, a luminous moon rising over a darkened sky.

Made of premium full-grain vegetable-tanned leather. Signed and dated by the artist. Arrives with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The Process

Carved, painted, and finished — one piece at a time.

Carving the leather
01 · Carve

Drawn, then cut by hand.

Every motif begins as a freehand drawing transferred to vegetable-tanned leather, then carved with a swivel knife and tooled bevelers.

Hand-painting detail
02 · Paint

Pigments brushed in, layer by layer.

Color is brushed directly into the relief — terracotta, oxblood, sage, gold leaf — in the same studio where the piece is carved.

Stitched and finished
03 · Finish

Stitched, signed, sealed.

Saddle-stitched, hardware fitted, signed by David, and sealed for a lifetime of patina. Shipped insured with a Certificate of Authenticity.

"I don't make a thousand of one bag. I make one of one. Each piece carries the marks of the day it was carved."
